8b1b Expands Software Portfolio with Launch of web codeworks
New product range brings ready-made, professionally supported WHMCS modules to hosting providers and online service businesses

Oswestry, Shropshire – 12 August 2026 – 8b1b, the trading name of 8bits1byte Limited, has announced the expansion of its software portfolio with the introduction of web codeworks, a new range of ready-made modules designed specifically for WHMCS.

The launch of web codeworks represents the latest stage in 8b1b’s continued focus on developing practical, specialist software products. It joins Salus3 Cloud and fynlytics as one of the company’s three core product areas.

web codeworks has been created to help businesses extend the functionality of WHMCS without the time and cost associated with commissioning bespoke development. Its modules are designed to integrate naturally with the existing WHMCS environment, providing additional functionality while maintaining a familiar experience for administrators and customers.

The initial web codeworks range includes six WHMCS addons:

  • Feature Requests – allowing customers to submit, discuss and vote on ideas while enabling businesses to communicate progress.
  • Enhanced Announcements – extending the standard WHMCS announcement system with categories, tags, filtering and additional navigation features.
  • Enhanced Knowledgebase – allowing knowledgebase content to be restricted according to customers' active product ownership.
  • Banner Manager – providing scheduled, colour-coded notices and announcements within the WHMCS client area.
  • Enhanced Status – creating a more detailed service status experience with grouped components, incident timelines and customer-aware information.
  • Support Ticket Sensitive Info – enabling encrypted sensitive information to be collected alongside support tickets without placing those details directly within ticket messages, replies or logs.

The modules are designed to be straightforward to install and use.

The expansion follows 8b1b's recent decision to concentrate its development resources around its own software products and specialist development services. The company has increasingly moved away from offering general IT, hosting and managed service products to new customers, allowing it to focus more closely on the development and long-term support of specialist software.

A spokesperson for 8b1b said:

“web codeworks is a natural extension of what we already do. We have worked extensively with WHMCS over the years and have regularly developed functionality to solve practical problems or improve areas where the standard platform could do more.

“Rather than keeping that work limited to individual projects, web codeworks gives us a way of turning those ideas into polished, supported modules that can be used by the wider WHMCS community.

“The aim isn't to replace WHMCS or radically change how it works. We want to add useful features that feel as though they belong there and help businesses get more from the platform they already use.”

The launch range is intended to be the foundation for a growing collection of WHMCS products. 8b1b plans to continue developing additional modules while maintaining and improving the existing range as WHMCS evolves.

web codeworks reflects the wider approach behind 8b1b's product strategy: identifying specific operational problems and developing focused software designed to solve them without unnecessary complexity.

With Salus3 Cloud serving the pre-hospital and event medical sector, fynlytics providing customer feedback tools, and web codeworks focusing on WHMCS, the expanded portfolio gives 8b1b three distinct specialist software areas under a single company brand.
